With 2FA enabled, even if someone gets hold of your password, they won’t be able to access your account without the second factor—typically something you have on hand, like a smartphone.

How to Enable 2FA on Your BESECURE Account

Follow these steps to enable Two-Factor Authentication:

Step 1: Access Your Account Settings

  1. Log in to your BESECURE account.
  2. Navigate to the "My Profile" section from the main menu and under the  "Account Security" click "Edit Security Settings".

Step 2: Find the Two-Factor Authentication Option

  1. Look for the option labelled "Two-Factor Authentication".
  2. Click on "Enable Two-Factor Authentication" option to begin the setup process.
  3. Enter your BESECURE account password to proceed to next step

Step 3: Install an Authenticator App

  1. Download an authenticator app on your smartphone. Recommended apps include:
    • Entrust Identity (iOS/Android)
    • Google Authenticator (iOS/Android)
    • Microsoft Authenticator (iOS/Android)
    • Twilio Authy Authenticator (iOS/Android)

Step 4: Scan the QR Code

  1. Once the authenticator app is installed, open it on your smartphone.
  2. In your BESECURE account settings, a QR code should be displayed.
  3. Use the authenticator app to scan the QR code. This action links your BESECURE account to the app.

Step 5: Enter the Authentication Code

  1. After scanning the QR code, the authenticator app will display a 6-digit code.
  2. Enter this code in the provided field on your BESECURE website to complete the setup.

Step 6: Test 2FA

  1. Log out of your BESECURE account.
  2. Log back in to ensure that 2FA is working correctly.
  3. You should be prompted to enter a code from your authenticator app.
